In order to support all of their 500+ vaccination sites during the quickly changing COVID-19 crisis, design and development for Color Health’s vaccine program had to be quick and largely reactionary.

In times like this, design debt is often built up from designing for speed, rather than longevity. Along with proposing a design solution, the goal of this project is to meticulously document how users (patients and vaccine site staff) have been interacting with the product—something that will prevent design debt from building up again.

Result

I focused on improving the user experience for patients booking appointments at a Color Health site. This was accomplished with 3 main deliverables:

  1. Short term design solution for custom calendar flow
  2. System map to highlight gaps in vaccine registration flow
  3. Design brief to outline long-term design strategy
